Communities across the country are investing
in Automated
External Defibrillator (AED) programs to help save the
lives of family members and friends in locations where large
numbers of people gather, such as office buildings, schools,
shopping malls, airports, supermarkets and health clubs.
In most cases, the costs of acquiring AEDs
and training people to use them can be prohibitive. In these
tight budgeting times, it can be difficult for school systems,
government agencies, companies and organizations to fund an
AED program and achieve the recommended three-minute response
time from collapse of a victim to the arrival of an AED.
You Can Install an AED
with No Financial Investment
LifeSignsAmerica,
a Maryland-based company that believes in helping communities
help themselves, has come up with a way in which you can install
an AED at no cost. Each AED is located on or near an EyeCatcher
display, which showcases bright, colorful advertising featuring
messages from local businesses. The EyeCatcher display
can also include a SafeFone telephone, which can be used to
dial 911 in an emergency or make free local telephone calls
of up to three minutes each. Ads from up to 17 local businesses
scroll through the EyeCatcher display, calling attention
to their products and services and to the AED. You
will receive one free ad on the EyeCatcher to promote
your product or service or display a public service message.
LifeSignsAmerica pays for the entire AED program using the
revenue from the advertising.
